Footprints

Footprints
One night a man had a dream. He dreamt he was walking along the beach with God. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints on the sand — one belonging to him and the other to God. When the last scene had flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints and he noticed only one set. He also noticed that this happened during the lowest and saddest times of his life. This bothered him and he questioned God. “God, you said that once I decided to follow you, you would walk all the way with me, but I noticed that during the most troublesome times of my life there was only one set of footprints. I don’t understand why, when I needed you most, you deserted me.” God replied, “My precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, those were the times when I carried you in my arms.”

Time

This post has been sitting in my drafts for ages. I think it's high time i finished this shiz up and published it.
                                                     ________________________________
I'm sitting here with my faget (don't tell me how and how not to tell spell faget -.-) friend, whose identity I shall not reveal (*cough* Shah Nawaz Khan *cough*). Shani is my oldest friend, not the best of friends, but old does count for something. Doesn't it? We've spent many a hot summer evenings together pretending we were detectives, playing cricket & football, watching Pokemon, playing video games, heck I even remember my initial forays into the world of pornography (Oh don't tell me you've never done it) using Rs.20 WOL internet cards that we'd use to connect to the internet on his computer. Oh those were the days! No pressure regarding CIE's, getting into good universities and making a career out of something, having the hottest girlfriend you could brag about to your friends(which btw is a bad idea, cuz apparently dusray ki plate mein parra ladoo zyada acha lagta hai.. whatever that means :/), and in general, no moral obligations to society, the weight of the world resting on some other sucker's shoulders.

Fast-forward to 2013, so much has changed. Well, unfortunately, the faget never left my side. But yeah, a lot  of other stuff has changed. I read somewhere that it's funny how each day feels like it's the same as the previous one, yet over time things change drastically. I think that isn't funny at all. It's sad. The people you once cared about, you're no longer in touch with them. All those promises of "forever" between two lovers are lost with the sands of time.

"This thing all things devours:
Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;
Gnaws iron, bites steel;
Grinds hard stones to meal;
Slays king, ruins town,
And beats high mountain down." - J.R.R Tolkien, The Hobbit

That is a riddle and the answer to that riddle, is Time. Also, if you haven't read The Hobbit and the LOTR series, you seriously need to reconsider what your doing with your life! (And I don't need to differentiate between your and you're because I have so much SWAG)
It might sound cruel, but time will probably crush all your hopes and dreams soon enough. Only thing it'll leave you with is memories. I'm sure you had a lot of dreams when you were little. Maybe you had a mental picture of how you wanted your life to be when you'd be older. Did you imagine you'd be studying boring-ass subjects like Physics and Chemistry so you could pursue that coveted career in Polymer making or whatever it is that physichemists (that's what they're called, right?) do. Or maybe work at the local McDonalds. Everybody wants to serve hungry customers at McDonalds, don't they? Sounds like such a fulfilling experience, no offense to people who work at McDonalds.

I'm sure you get the picture. Our days on this beautiful planet are numbered. Growing old might seem like a gradual process, but if ever you look behind and reflect, you'll realise it all happened in a flash. Make the most of the time you've been given. Follow your dreams, do what you love and be happy. In summation, I'd like to convey what I've learned about life in a few words. "It goes on." Lol, just kidding. That phrase is so cliched and it's not even relevant. I present to you the genius that is Pink Floyd.

"Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way.

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying, home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.

So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death."
